The title is pretty much my review in a nutshell.Vampire & His Pleasant Companions is an adorable, funny, and quick read. Albert's bat form is squee inducing, and Akira is a hot tsundere. A little long in the intro with Albert being thrown into jail and busting out of jail back and forth that happens twice. I had no sense of where this story will lead once it ended, but I enjoyed our leads and third wheel too much to care.No bl moments in this volume. You'll have to wait a bit for those. I'm not sure if this will be a more wholesome, shounen ai-level BL or if a switch will flip and things will get yaoi, but for now, it's wholesome.Also, it's not everday that you get a protagnist from Nebraska who has to learn Japanese in bat form. XDDon't let the "old" manga art style turn you off to this story. When you're done reading Sasaki & Miyano vol. 1 (which you'll note that Yen Press released that and VAHPC on the same day), pick this manga up!Already pre-ordered volume 2. Loveeeeee how this manga started so please note there isn’t romance or any scenes of flirting right now it’s them getting to know each other and i love it !
